The House of Arts and Culture in Beirut: A Flagship Project

Under the leadership of the Lebanese Ministry of Culture and with funding from the Sultanate of Oman to the tune of $ 20 million, the district Ghalghoul in Beirut is about to witness the birth of the “House of Arts and Culture, a first in Lebanon . For its construction, an international architectural competition was held and won by the Milanese Alberto Catalano. With a total surface area of ​​nearly 20,000 m2, the new HAC will consist of a flexible 800-seat auditorium, a multipurpose room (black box) of 300 seats, a 200 seat theatre, exhibition rooms, rehearsal, course and production studios, a library, a cinema, offices and commercial spaces. The end of construction is planned for 2014.
